Kaiju Database - Ghidorah

Abilities and Attributes

- Flight.  Despite it's giant size, this creature has proven capable of moving deftly while in the air, exceeding speeds of Mach 3.  What's more, how it flies seems to be disconnected to the state of it's wings.  May be linked to its own personal gravitational force

- Wings. While Ghidorah is not dependent on its wings to fly, they have their uses.  By flapping them, it can build up winds not unlike that of a hurricane, often used while flying to inflict maximum damage.  They also seem to be a natural solar panel, allowing it to absorb energy given off by sunlight, or any other similar star, to keep its energy reserves near maximum at all times.  It does seem to seek shelter or discontinue activity during night as a means to converse power.

- Gravity Rays. Ghidorah can emit from any of its three heads brilliant energy beams that don't seem dissimilar to electricity, at least in appearance.  In truth, what these beams actually are is unknown, the moniker Gravity Rays given due to how it seems to bend and warp the rules of gravity on everything it strikes.  How Ghidorah controls such power is unknown, but, as it seems to have a personal gravity well, it is theorized that perhaps it was a creature not unlike Gojira, having been enhanced by a powerful weapon meant to destroy it.

- Multi-Limbs. Due to having three heads, Ghidorah has fantastic all around vision, and is generally hard to sneak up on.  It has two tails, presumably for some type of balance, which end in spiked maces that can be used to viciously beat upon a fallen foe.

- Intelligence. Ghidorah may possess intelligence not unlike our own. It seems very aware of our military, and will go out of it's way to obliterate any perceived threat our weapons may pose.  It seems to enjoy pain it inflicts, as opposed to many other Monsters, it will seemingly torture its victims, slowly and painfully, before finishing them.  Those who have been close to it even claim it has spoken to them, and the sheer malice it has toward us.  

- Metamorphasis. Upon arriving, Ghidorah was in a state not dissimilar to a Meteor.  It appears to take such a form during space travel, likely due to being unable to survive in such conditions normally.  There are potentially others forms it can take, but they have not been recorded as of yet.

Well, I've been busy.  It's been long in coming, but I finally have another monster in and designed, deciding where better to start than with Godzilla's arch nemesis, King Ghidorah.  One of the things I had in mind while working on him was wanting to maintain a level of 'alien' to him, as he isn't natural to our world, which likely isn't the best portrayed, but his eyes, including four being on the central head, and his wings, should help with this.  I also wanted to very much keep him looking regal, as I would think it is a proud creature, fully aware of the godlike power it wields. I also stuck with elements closer related to the Showa design, such as the mane, as I don't see that detail maintained much, plus, that being closer to the overall feel I am going for.  I also gave him purple eyes to reinforce the regal design.  Make no mistake that this Ghidorah is the most powerful single monster in this setting, something that Godzilla would struggle with, and likely require aid to bring him down.  Though, there is a slight new weakness, in that he could theoretically be exhausted if denied sunlight, but Ghidorah is aware of this, and fights very much on its own terms.  So, while Godzilla's signature and primary foe, he also is kind of the enemy of all the Kaiju we could consider heroic in general.  Worth noting that I do have a new design for Godzilla, as I'm adapting some of the 2014 design into my own.
